Books I’m So Pumped For In 2015

Wow, that was a long blogcation I just had, wasn’t it? Well, don’t worry, although I haven’t blogged in a week, I definitely made sure not to take a vacation from reading. And believe it or not, but over the past week I read MY NEW FAVORITE DYSTOPIAN SERIES (which I will tell you about later) and also managed to get giddy with excitement over the sequels, prequels, and spinoff books coming in 2015. Let me just say, this is gonna be a great year of new spazz-worthy books.

Btw, all these new book releases happen to be continuations of 5 of my most favorite favorite favorite book series ever in the history of the whole wide world ever.

(The first two covers haven’t been released… but what can you do?)

1.) Carry On by Rainbow Rowell

Release date: October 2015

Now, over the summer, I read one of my other favorite fiction reads, Fangirl by Rainbow Rowell. Ugh. It was so. darn. good. That is a whole different book review entirely, but in the book, the main character Cather writes fanfic about her favorite book series ever, Simon Snow( In my opinion, kinda like a Harry Potter meets Twilight kind of thing???) , and her fanfic story is called Carry On, Simon.  And while reading it, I couldn’t help thinking how cool it would be to read her fanfic, and yap, I bet you can guess, Rainbow Rowell is coming out with a whole book dedicated to Simon Snow called Carry On!!!!!! When I heard this fabulous news, you can probably guess how much I was totally freaking out. ( And totally still am freaking out.)

2.) Winter by Marissa Meyer

Lunar Chronicles book 5

Release Date: November 2015

( There is a prequel, Fairest, coming out January 27, so that is officially book 4.)

So, the series I was talking about that I just read over break, was the Lunar Chronicles. Now, when I picked up Cinder, the first book in the series, I didn’t really know how to feel about the main character being a robot thingy cyborg. (If you don’t understand anything I’m saying right now, go read the book description on Amazon.) But anyway, the moment I got through the second chapter, I was totally hooked and I literally read for 3 hours straight until I finished. And then for the next 4 hours I presumed to read the second book in the series, Scarlet, which was even better than the first. And lastly the third book, Cress, which is about 500 whopping pages (and let me tell you, although I read this pretty fast because it was so good, it was loooooong) and is so much more fast paced and OMG I CANT BELIEVE THAT JUST HAPPENED than the first two. The books are a spin of classic fairytales, which I thought was really cool. (Cinder- Cinderella, Scarlet- Little Red Riding Hood, Winter- Snow White.) Since Cress was so long, I expected it to be the last book in the series, but when I got to the end and the journey wasn’t over, I almost had a heart attack, not even kidding. BUT PRAISE TO THE GOD OF BOOKS BECAUSE NOT ONLY WILL THERE BE A FOURTH BOOK, BUT ALSO A PREQUEL! REJOICE!!!!

3.) The Ruby Circle by Richelle Mead

Bloodlines Series book 6

Release Date: Feb 10

8709528-1

( And please don’t judge a book by it’s cover here, I know it looks like one of those crappy beach reads you find at gas stations or something, but it’s not)

I think the reason I’m most excited for this is because my book husband number 1, Adrian Ivashkov, (yap, you heard me, not a book boyfriend, but a husband) is in it. Uh huh, we’re officially a thing. I just love the story so so so much (even though whenever I mention the series to my friends they stare at me like I’m crazy, which let’s be real here, I am) and I love the characters so so so much. Yah. I don’t know what else to say because I love this series so much.

4.) The Heir by Kiera Cass

Selection Series book 4

Release Date: May 5

22918050

For me, I kind of felt like The Selection was the girly ( and non- violent) version of the Hunger Games. The second I saw the cover (Yes, I judged a book by its cover, whatever, I know I’m a hypocrite) and read the description I was like yes puh-lease! Dystopian? Check. Love triange? Check. And a competition to see who can win the heart of Prince Maxon? Sounds good to me! Anyway, I read the first book about a year ago and soon after read the sequel, and the epic third and last (or so I thought) book of the series. But when Kiera announced that The Heir was coming out I almost died. (As I do with any book basically.)

And for all of you who have read The Selection, I’m guessing you were Team Maxon from the first book, cause I know I was. And if you were Team Aspen then how dare you still be breathing.

And lastly, even though this book comes out in 2016 which is really really really far from now, I absolutely HAD to include it because I AM SO DARN EXCITEDDDDDD!!!!

5.) Lady Midnight by Cassandra Clare

AHHHHH!!!! AHHHHH! OMG! When Cassandra Clare announced this new spinoff series on her twitter, I literally started screaming. Not only is The Mortal Instruments a series I can read over and over, but I have to say, Will from The Infernal Devices is my second book husband, like besides Adrian, of course. Anyway, this series is supposed to follow Emma, whom we met previously in the epic series finale, City of Heavenly Fire. (aka best book in the universe!!!)

Anyway, hope you guys enjoyed this ( really long) list of mine and let me know if you want to read/ have read any of the series I mentioned! Have a great week ( I know, the week after the holidays is crazy hard to get through, but don’t worry you can do it!!! Aren’t my mini pep talks great???) and see ya next time!!!!
